We have an FRS (Financial Reporting Studio) report that needs to be scheduled. For each scheduled run, the Accounting Period parameter should automatically increment to the next period. Is there a way to achieve this functionality?

As per my knowledge, FRS (Financial Reporting Studio) reports do not have a built-in "Auto-Increment" checkbox for the Accounting Period parameter like some standard ESS jobs do. However, you can achieve this exact functionality by using the Batch Scheduler in combination with the Current POV (Point of View) function.

Instead of hardcoding a specific period (like "Jan-24") in your schedule, you set the report to look at the "Current" period.

To make the period increment automatically, the report grid must be designed to use the System's Current Period rather than a user prompt. When the scheduled batch runs, it will look at whatever period is marked as "Open" or "Current" in the GL or the user's preferences at that moment.

  • Hi @User_LDK8D ,

Welcome to the Oracle Analytics community and forum.

Do you have a FRS report built on top of your OBIA?

Because your question is maybe not in the right place…

Are you using FRS on top of a cloud application? In that case you should go to https://community.oracle.com/customerconnect (a parallel but independent forum) that covers all the cloud applications. This forum covers the Oracle Analytics products, and FRS isn't part of them.
