Enhancements to the Limit Values Feature & Impacts to NetSuite Analytics Warehouse (NSAW)
What is Being Announced?
UPDATE (Dec 12, 2025): The OAC November release will now appear in the FDI Fleet between January 7-16 depending on your region.
NSAW and OAC are addressing inconsistent workbook filter behaviors that have contributed to confusion with workbook usage and authoring. Workbooks may need to be updated and/or a setting turned off in the near-term.
These inconsistencies stem from the fact that in a workbook, the rules for one filter limiting another are sometimes unpredictable. These rules can be complicated as filters can be set in three locations: 1) on the filter bar, 2) in dashboard filters on the canvas, and 3) on a visualization itself. The changes we’re implementing to fix this include adding an obvious and documented hierarchy of filter precedence as well as clearer ways of disregarding the hierarchy if desired.
To summarize the changes:
- Filters with the Limit Values By setting will now always respect other filters from the same or higher filter location unless explicitly excluded.
- The Custom option for the Limit Values By setting will be restricted to filters within the same filter location, preventing unintended overrides from higher filters.
- A fix has addressed a bug where consumer selections for dashboard filters could bypass author-designed Limit Values By behavior.
Limit Values Console Setting
Filters present in workbooks today may behave differently after the change if they rely on cross-location or cross-scope interactions. Please review your workbooks and ensure the filter logic still aligns with your design intent. You have until roughly April to update workbooks if needed, but a setting will need to be changed in the short-term to maintain the current behaviors.
An advanced system setting called “Enable Enhancement to Limit Values By in Workbooks” controls the Limit Values By behavior for filters. An Admin user can find this setting in the NSAW Console. Admins can turn this setting ON to test workbook behaviors before Jan (please see timing below) when NSAW 25.R4 will uptake the OAC November release.
The OAC November release will now appear sometime between Jan 7-16, depending on your region. Once this release has been delivered, Admins can turn this filter setting to OFF to restore the original behavior. In the March update to OAC, we expect the setting will be removed. This will be seen in NSAW in April 2026.
Release Timing Summary
- OAC Now - present in NSAW 25.R3
System toggle is OFF, and can be turned ON - OAC November 2025 Release - will land Jan 7-16
System toggle is ON by default, and can be turned OFF - OAC January Release - will land in Feb
System toggle is ON by default, and can be turned OFF - OAC March Release - will land in April
System toggle will be removed; and the new behavior becomes the only behavior
What Actions Should I Take?
If they rely on cross-location or cross-scope interactions, some filters present in workbooks today may behave differently after the changes . Please review your workbooks and ensure the filter logic still aligns with your design intent. You have until roughly April to update workbooks if needed, but the "Limit Values By" system setting will need to be changed in January to maintain the current behaviors.
You should:
- Analyze all workbooks for potential impact with the console setting ON so you can test the new behavior.
- Ask your admin to turn the console OFF for time to complete #1 and #3. As mentioned above, we expect to remove the setting in the March update to OAC which will be seen in NSAW in April 2026.
- Update your affected workbooks as needed using the steps provided in this article.
NSAW Workbooks
NSAW factory workbooks have not been updated, but Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) Workbooks have already been reworked in currently-shipping versions of FDI to function well with either setting. You may want to review this change for suitable uptake in your own custom NSAW content.
Please see the blog posting below for the illustrated steps for an AP Aging Analysis example that can be applied universally across all workbooks. The blog will be monitored. Look for the "What Changes Should I Make in Workbooks?" section.

Thanks for sharing this update!
The enhancements to the “Limit Values By” filter behavior look really helpful for making workbook filters more predictable.
The example and guidance on testing with the console setting make it easier to prepare for the Jan Release. Looking forward to applying these changes in our FDI and NSAW workbooks.
