Scheduling a Analysis Subject Area Report to SFTP server
Organization Name
Veritas Technologies LLC
Description
We need to send a Report generated through Analytics(OTBI) via New->Analysis straight to a SFTP server. But we can see that this functionality is only available if the report is generated through either New->Reports or New->Data Model. We would want the option to send it to SFTP server available for the Reports generated through New->Analysis.
Use Case and Business Need
Business Users generate most of their reports from New->Analysis as it is convenient and easy for them to generate a report there due to it's simplified UI. But the Users also want that the report to be sent directly to the SFTP server. Since this functionality is not available for Analysis Subject Area Reports, they can't do it.
More details
In the current scenario, we will have to create a Data Model for every report that had been generated through New->Analysis in the past for it to be sent to the SFTP server. As this is not a feasible solution as every time the user will have to spend time to generate the Data Model and they can't get into much technicalities. We suggest you to add this functionality in other reports generation methods as well. I've attached a file with screenshots describing the situation

-
- OTBI Agent delivery channels are limited to Email, Dashboard and Alert-based delivery and there is NO standard or supported capability to deliver OTBI analyses directly to an SFTP location via Agents.
In contrast, BI Publisher does support SFTP / FTP delivery
This difference is by design in the Fusion BI architecture:
- OTBI is intended for interactive analytics and light scheduling
- BI Publisher is intended for enterprise reporting and file-based integrations
