Number of allowed FDI instance and licensing model
I would like to understand how the licensing model operates in FDI. Is there an additional cost associated with creating an FDI instanse beyond the development and production instances? In case of multiple fusion instance.
kindly provide clarification on this topic.

@User_7AIAG , Welcome to the Oracle Analytics Community!
Each FDI environment is a separate OCI deployment, so you will incur OCI consumption costs for:
- Autonomous Data Warehouse
- Object Storage
- OCI Data Integration
- AI/ML services
- OCPUs
So while there’s no extra FDI license, there is an additional OCI cost per environment.

- Best practice is to always activate Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence into your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications account. Doing so saves you time, cost, and complexity when setting up your security integration between Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence and your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, as well as improved ongoing synchronization performance.
- Activating the Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence subscription into a non-Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications account goes against best practices. It will cost you additional time, money, and complexity when setting up your security integration between Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence and your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, and reduced performance in its ongoing synchronization.
- From Release Platform 25.R1.P2, Universal Credits (UCC) are no longer a prerequisite for activating Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence. You can activate Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence without relying on UCC. However, you may require UCC in specific scenarios to access or scale Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services that support Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence and for enhanced performance.
Please refer for more details. hope it helps!

An FDI subscription allows the creation of 2 instances, one for Dev and one for Prod. If you want to create an additional Dev environment, first work with Sales to buy an SKU for an Additional Test Environment (ATE).

Hi @Silvio Garber will it requires additional licensing cost ?

Hi @User_7AIAG, yes it will have additional cost but if you talk to Sales, it will give you a better estimate, based on the different options or relationship with Oracle. Hope it helps!

Most customers only use the 2 standard environments (Dev and Prod). Question yourself why you need an ATE first.
