Dear Experts

Is there a supported way to bring custom financial categories from Fusion GL into FDI and use them in OOTB GL subject areas?
We understand that prebuilt metrics are based on standard categories and may require derived metrics. Looking for any recommended or proven approach.

  • Hi @s.datta , Welcome to the Oracle's Analytics Community!

    We need to leverage FDI’s Semantic Model Extensions and custom derived metrics for above use case.

    I would suggest going thru this Oracle Blog for more details. Hope it helps!

    Thanks

  • I believe steps are already mentioned in the blog that I provided above, please refer following

    Semantic Model Extensions

    This section shows how to use Semantic Model Extensions to create metrics based on the custom financial category.

    1. Log in to FAW with the Modeler role. For information on roles, see the Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence Administration Guide.
    2. Launch the FAW Console and click Semantic Model Extensions.
    3. Click Create Branch.
    4. Provide the Name and Description and click Done.

    Hello @RVohra

    I added a new derived column and added to the existing subject area using semantic model extension , but balance is showing zero. is there anything I am doing wrong in the formula.

  • @s.datta , thanks for providing the update. This approach was provided by Oracle Product SME so next step would be to log a SR with Oracle Support.

    @RVohra

    Thanks for your response. We have already raised SR 4-0001883318 with Oracle. At this point, we have gone through multiple rounds of troubleshooting and provided all the requested details. However, the questions and troubleshooting approach so far have not been helpful in addressing the actual issue.
