New England Car Insurance business analysis
The New England Car Insurance Company business analysis is intended for decision makers in the company to quickly identify business trends, then deep dive into drivers of profitability and know where to focus to improve the business model.
1. Which dataset did you use? Oracle provided dataset, Auto Insurance
2. How did you analyze or prepare the data? Data exploration using data tables and charts, with guidance from the AI Assistant. Also, exploring the data model to understand how to aggregate fields properly.
3. Who is the intended audience for your visualization? Business managers and executives for the auto insurance company
4. What is your visualization about, and what question or problem does it address? The business analysis is focused on profitability trends, and drivers of profitability on both the revenue and cost side. There is also a deep dive into how customer claims and the insurance company's payouts have been changing over time. The idea is that these charts would drive the creation of initiatives to improve the business profitability, through setting better premium rates and challenging claims.
5. Did you use any Oracle Analytics AI features when building your visualization (ex. AI Assistant)? If so, please describe how they were used. I used AI Assistant to guide me in selecting charts, I asked a series of questions to dig into the data and identify trends. I also used the "auto" feature to select the best chart type for the data. Finally, I incorporated a forecasting model into the initial profitability chart to show how profitability would continue to degrade if nothing changes.
