Summary

Fusion AI Data Platform includes a connector for Oracle Analytics Publisher that allows teams to bring selected report data into the platform through Data Augmentation and use it to enrich existing analytics through Semantic Model Extensions or in OAC. This helps organizations reuse valuable business context from operational reports in a more governed way, instead of relying on manual exports and separate files.

Detail

Fusion AI Data Platform (previously known as Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence) includes a connector for Oracle Analytics Publisher that lets administrators bring selected report data into Fusion AI Data Platform through Data Augmentation and use it for data extensibility in Semantic Model Extensions or in OAC. In Oracle’s current documentation, this capability is described as support for loading Analytics Publisher report data into Fusion AI Data Platform so it can be combined with existing analytics content.

Why does this capability matter? In many organizations, useful business context lives in operational or formatted reports, but that information is hard to reuse in broader analytics without extra manual work. This connector helps bridge that gap by letting teams bring approved report output into Fusion AI Data Platform, where it can be blended with existing data and used to enrich dashboards, analysis, and decision-making.

A practical example is when a team has important reference or supplemental data already available through Analytics Publisher reports and wants to make that data easier to analyze alongside Fusion AI Data Platform content. Instead of asking users to download files and manage separate copies, the connector provides a governed path to connect, refresh metadata, move the data through Data Augmentation and then use the data in Fusion AI Data Platform.

Quick Tips:

  • Keep the source report focused and output it as CSV, because Oracle states the connector supports CSV with a comma-separated delimiter.
  • Make sure date and timestamp formats match between Analytics Publisher and Fusion AI Data Platform to avoid load issues.
  • Make sure required metadata is refreshed before expecting the source to be available for augmentation.
  • If a report is large, Oracle documents options to run it asynchronously or download it in chunks for larger outputs, and it also notes a typical report execution timeout of about 300 seconds.
  • Oracle additionally warns that credentials must be kept current so pipelines do not hang or become disabled after password changes.

Great overview of how the BI Publisher connector can extend the value of operational reports within Fusion AI Data Platform. The practical tips around CSV output and metadata refresh are especially helpful.

    Thanks for sharing this, @fbarazan-Oracle!
