How can we Migrate FDI from Default Identity Domain to different Identity Domain?

FDI is initially provisioned with default identity domain and various development was done in FDI along with few custom schema(s) in the underlying ADW.
Can someone point or suggest the recommended approach to point the FDI (Default Identity Domain) to FDI (Test Identity Domain) and subsequently promote to Prod?

    FDI deployments cannot be moved from one domain to another.

    It must be backed up, dropped, recreated in the correct domain, and restored.

    You need to create another instance with correct domain so that you won't loose your artifacts. Once you move your artifacts through bundle to the New Instance(with correct domain), you can deprecate your current instance with default domain and then recreate. you don't have option to make the correction to the domain
