How to handle custom categories in financial categories for natural accounts in FDI

Question

Prebuilt analyses and metrics in the GL subject areas are based on the standard financial categories provided by Fusion Applications. If custom categories are defined, corresponding derived metrics must be created to ensure accurate reporting.

There are missing blogs (404 error) blogs of this topic so if there is a new version could be helpful

What is the recommended approach to handle this ?

You can upload a predefined category or a custom category defined using the Financial Categories upload option described in the documentation here to upload categories:

When possible, you should try to use the predefined categories. If the category is for customer-specific reporting only, create a custom category and assign natural accounts to it through Financial Category Assignments.
