What Is Oracle AI Data Platform? A quick video worth watching

Hi Analytics & AI Community,

I came across this short Oracle video — “What Is Oracle AI Data Platform?” — and thought it would be a great one to share here in the Lounge.

In just a couple of minutes, the video introduces the idea behind Oracle AI Data Platform: bringing together trusted enterprise data, business context, analytics, governance, and AI capabilities into a unified foundation for enterprise AI.

What stood out to me is the focus on a very practical challenge: AI only becomes valuable when it is grounded in the right data, understands business context, and can be embedded into real workflows where decisions actually happen.

A few key takeaways:

Enterprise AI needs trusted, governed data — not fragmented copies across systems.
Business context matters because AI models do not automatically understand how each organization defines metrics, relationships, and processes.
AI becomes more impactful when it is connected to analytics, applications, workflows, and agents.

Great video and summary. For my organization, I think the biggest opportunity is probably business process automation, with AI agents being the tool that could make that automation more useful. In an ERP environment, there are a lot of processes where users spend time gathering information from different places before they can make a decision. A few examples that come to mind are invoice/accounting research, exception handling, data cleanup, etc. These are not always simple reporting problems. A lot of the work is understanding the business context and what action(s) comes next.

I don't think that AI agents or automation can be truly successful without strong governance first. If data definitions are inconsistent/incomplete, or if different departments define things differently, then the agent(s) may give an answer that sounds right but does not actually fit the business process.
