Help Needed: Steps to Migrate Standalone OAC HCM Project to FDI

Could you please help me understand the steps involved in migrating a standalone OAC HCM project to FDI? Any guidance or documentation would be greatly appreciated.

There is no one click migration path from a standalone OAC HCM project to Oracle FDI. FDI is a managed analytics application with its own prebuilt semantic model, Autonomous AI Lakehouse (ADW), ETL pipelines, security model, and HCM KPIs.  Please explore the Semantic Model Merge Option that is recommended by Oracle for merging the External Applications. Below steps will be helpful to understand how this option works.

An external semantic model from standalone Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle Analytics Server, or Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, can be merged with the semantic model of Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence only in your non-production instance.

You can also merge your existing catalogs in the external Oracle Analytics Cloud with those in the Oracle Analytics Cloud instance associated with your Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence instance. Both external semantic model and semantic model extensions can co-exist and you can include the external semantic model in your semantic model extensions. On the Publish Model page, select "Yes" if you want the external semantic model to be included.

Merging external semantic models may require you to scale up your Oracle Analytics Cloud compute resources to ensure better performance. In particular, if you're merging a semantic model that was in use on a live Oracle Analytics Cloud instance, then Oracle recommends scaling up Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence's Oracle Analytics Cloud compute resources by the same number of CPUs as the instance the semantic model is merged from.

To successfully merge an external semantic model, you must complete these tasks in the sequence they are listed:

* Create a custom database schema in the Oracle Autonomous AI Lakehouse associated with your Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence instance. See Create a Custom Database Schema.
* Migrate or create database objects such as tables, views, and synonyms in the new schema. See Migrate or Create Database Objects.
* Grant semantic model access to the database objects. See Grant Semantic Model Access.
* Configure Oracle Analytics Client Tools (Oracle BI Administration Tool).
* Export the semantic model template.
* Bring in the custom database objects into the physical layer of the semantic model template by either importing, or merging, or copying and pasting.
* Prepare your external applications to ensure they work without interruption.
* Model the custom semantic model objects.
* Merge the external semantic model with the semantic model of your Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence instance.
* Validate the results.
* Bundle the merged semantic model to your production instance.
