My data:
My Calculation - above in the last column you can see it works great:
So why the heck my table goes blank for every value in Month End Date filter?
The solution seems to be adding the Headcount to the chart, which is not optimal since now I need to keep a not required metric (it can be hidden from a table chart but not from a bar chart)
Hi @Stefano_Mazzocca,
It seems the issue may be related to the Month End Date filter rather than the CASE calculation itself.
Looking at the first screenshot, Enterprise Hire Date is available as a row-level value, but Month End Date isn't shown in the table. Since the calculation works when Month End Date is only referenced inside the calculation, but the table returns No Data Found when Month End Date is added as a filter, I'm wondering if the filter is eliminating all rows before the calculation is evaluated.
Could you try adding Month End Date to the table as a regular column (without the calculation) and check what values it actually returns?
If possible, could you also share the formula used to create Month End Date? That might explain why the filter is removing all the rows.
Thank you.
Hi @Bhaskar Konar ,
there is no formula behind the field since it is standard, if I add it as pure column I have the same value for all rows (last day of current month):
Thanks for providing the details.
Can you please check what criteria has been chosen for the Month End Date and also can you please do a range for an year or so like below screenshot and it should return data now.
The result is the same
What do you mean about the criteria? Since it's standard I can only see this:
Thank you
I was trying to check what filter condition you have used for Month End Date (and that has been mentioned as Criteria in my previous post).
Like - if I choose 'Relative Time' - No data is returned. If I choose the Date range I'm getting the data.
If possible, please attach the Catalog file that's not returning data so that can be replicated in our instances to see if there's any quick resolution.
Sure, thank you for the support!
Thanks for sharing!
I had a look and it is returning data in our instance. I would request you to check the filter on Legal Employer whether it has correct value selected or if possible remove the filter and see if it populates data.
Hi @Bhaskar Konar, no actually I can see the same but I see no value when in the "Month End Date" filter I select any date different from current month end date, that's the nonsense I face :(
Yes, agree with you.
Actually 'Month End Date' will always return the End Date of the Current Month. As a result, if the selected date range does not extend to the end of the current month, no rows will be returned.
Hope this help.
