Hi:

My iFS server does not work for me as Mail Server. I saw that in file ifs\email\nt\ifs.m4, the text of setting is like this:

define(`ORACLEHOME', D:\O8iEE)
define(`JAVA_CLASSPATH', D:\O8iEE\ifs\jre/lib/rt.jar:D:\O8iEE\ifs\jre/lib/i18n.jar:D:\O8iEE/jdbc/lib/classes111.zip:D:\O8iEE\ifs\settings:D:\O8iEE\ifs\lib/email.jar:D:\O8iEE\ifs\lib/repos.jar:D:\O8iEE/lib/ vbjorb.jar:D:\O8iEE\ifs\lib/installer.jar)
define(`IFSSETTINGS', D:\O8iEE\ifs\settings)
define(`JDK', D:\O8iEE\ifs\jre)
define(`SMTPPORT', 2500)
ifdef(`IFSSETTINGS',, `define(`IFSSETTINGS', /etc/mail)')
ifdef(`IFS_MAILER_FLAGS',, `define(`IFS_MAILER_FLAGS', `umDFM0l')')
ifdef(`IFS_JRE_PATH',, `define(`IFS_JRE_PATH', JDK/bin/jre)')
POPDIVERT
ECLASSPATH=JAVA_CLASSPATH
EPATH=/usr/pro/bin:JDK/bin
ELD_LIBRARY_PATH=JDK/lib:ORACLEHOME/lib:/opt/lib:ORACLEHOME/lib:ORACLEHOME/ctx/lib
EORACLE_HOME=ORACLEHOME

where the D:\O8iEE is my Oracle home.

What I wonder is, under Windows NT, is "/" the same like "\"? Is this the reason why iFS does not work properly as Mail Server?

Thanks for any help.

    I don't think the "/" versus the "\" is your problem.

    What are the symptoms of not being able to get email to work?

    Are there any entries in your Log file?

    Do all the other protocols work?

    Can you send email?
