Hi,
I have installed IFS on a Solaris 2.7 with database 8.1.6. When I try to run ifsstart as root I get this message

Unable to start iFS ServerManager
Invalid credentials specified

:O Sorry for the disturbance if it is too simple.

I too have encountered this error with the same configuration. I thought it was because I had the wrong environment settings but I user the Oracle environment variables on the root user and nothing changed. Do you know if IFS is certified on Solaris2.7/Oracle 8.1.6? good luck. I will let you know if I get anywhere with this.

I must take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of the log files. Many of the errors that are reported directly to the screen are very brief summaries of the actual error that occurred. If you get an error like this, you must check the log file(s) to get more information. Feel free to post whatever you find.

The proper credentials are first to be logged in as root.
    username is system
    password is manager
    ifsservice is ServerManager
ifs schema password is ifssys or whatever you named it when you configured the server.
