Type 7 USB Keyboard/Mouse

Hello, I am looking to acquire a used Sun workstation/server (preferably a multiprocessor SPARC) to keep in my house to learn mySQL/Solaris and to create a SAMP machine to that end. I am purchasing things piece by piece, and started with the least expensive: new type 7 keyboard and mouse, since I am still researching a system and was wondering if anyone could answer this question:

Which SPARCs (Desktops or Desktop Servers) will work with the type 7 keyboard and mouse? I have read a few posts where some of the older SPARCs cannot/do not support the USB connectivity of these components. Which machine (or perhaps which generation of machines) do support these? Ultra 10? 20? 40? 60? Blade 100? Blade 150? Blade 1000? 1500? 2000? 2500?

I know the new x86 machines do, but I prefer the SPARC architecture (plus they are cheaper on eBay)...

Thanks in advance!

The Ultra 10 and the Ultra 60 do not have any integrated USB of any sort. All of the other systems you mentioned will work with USB Sun keyboards/mice.

Depending on the vintage (SB100/SB150/SB1000/SB2000 for example) they shipped with type6 peripherals. That was likely because the type 7 hadn't been invented as yet.

If you end up with an U10 or a U60, just get an appropriate mini-DIN type5 or type6 keyboard/mouse. Note that the connection NOT a PS/2 port. The pinouts are different, so a PeeCee keyboard is incompatible.
