Hi ,
We have setup Essbase clustering. There are two servers involved in Essbase clustering.
Can you please let me know , Do we need to start OPMN on two Essbase servers or only one Essbase server. if it is on One server, how it will interact with other server. I am bit confused after gone thru documentation. Can any one please let me know what scenarios we use startessbase.sh and opmnctl start commands.
Please let me know if you don't understand my question or need more information on the same.
Thanks,
Ganesh

Hi Ganesh,
You will have two active OPMN's. One will start the active Essbase processes and the other will have the non-running passive Essbase.
You man want to delve into the Database Admin Guide (DBAG) at: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/esb_dbag.pdf
Review Chapter 46: Managing Essbase using OPMN.

Thank you John !
So, my understanding is that from your answer and dbag documenation, I need to use the below code to start the essbase servers using OPMN.
opmnctl startproc ias-component=EssbaseInstanceName ( here is cluster name or Essbase server name based on situation)
please correct me if i am wrong.
Thanks you so much for your patience and help on the same. -
Yes you should be able to start the essbase server using that command as long as OPMN is running.
Cheers
