Preventing report from running automatically when first opening page

EBr007May 28 2012 — edited Jun 26 2013
In our BI application (OBIEE 11g) we have some custom reports that always require user to make selections in the dashboard prompt for the report to make sense for them. Therefore, when opening the dashboard page, it does not make sense for the report to run right away and we would prefer that the non user-constrained query be not sent to the database . I was wondering whether someone had devised a way to prevent a dashboard page or a specific report to start running automatically when the page is first opened. In the ideal scenario, a message would appear in place of the report asking the user to enter parameters and click Apply to launch the report - we think this would also improve the user experence.

Thank you.
