  • In Oracle Cloud Java Service you can use java.utils.logging API for application logging,
Logs generated by your application can be viewd/searched/downloaded using Java Service Console or CLI.

    Hi Nilesh,

Thanks for giving response. As you said, we can use java.utils.logging API. Is there a way to move all application logs into a file in the cloud? If we use the above API, can we get all application logs under activity logs in JCS?

    Thanks&Regards,
    Raghu

When you use the logging API, logs get written to service logs. You dont have file access to this logs, but you can get access to them in 2 ways:
    1. Console -- there is a "View Service Logs" link on the dashboard of the console.
    2. Download through CLI -- you can provide filter criteria to the download command.

There is a "query-service-logs" command that you can use to download logs. You will find the details of the command in the SDK, under /doc directory. You can also use "-follow" option to tail the logs.

    Thanks,
    -Anand.

BTW, you can search, view, download logs both from console as well as command line. SDK also contains Maven and Ant tasks for the same.

    thanks,
    -Anand.
