A big thanks to Patrick Landry for his February 2014 presentation.  Here are a few notes from his presentation.

Key business drivers for IDM at USAA are:

    • Business agility to improve customer service
    • Regulatory compliance (regulators are on campus)
    • Role Based Access Control (RBAC) model to replace Least Privilege
    • Automation of manual provisioning processes
    • GRC tool integration
    • Get ready for multi-factor authentication

    Key takeaways:

    • Conduct a baseline self-assessment to measure your IDM maturity
    • Deployed OAM 11gR2 – Oct. 2012
    • OIM 11gR2 PS1 Deployed Dec. 2013
    • Planning on implementing OUD
    • Implemented transfer based (event driven) certification to remove unnecessary privileges when changing jobs
    • 2 day employee on boarding process reduced to 15 mins with automation
    • LOB Managers (not app owners) responsible for certifications
