HFM Performance Statistics

Hi All,
Each month at my company, we report on our systems performance via power point presentation. I currently gather statistics from an OS level for my Hyperion servers and from a DB level on our SQL servers for Hyperion, but I don't know of any ways to gather ANY statistics from an application level. Does anyone out there have any sort of way I can get any type of visibility on application performance? We are currently investigating going with Accelatis solutions for this, but I want to know if I can put anything together for the time being. I am currently on version 11.1.2.2.
I appreciate any help or insight in regards to this issue.
Thanks!

Hi there,
- Time required for the consolidation
- Number of consolidations
- Number of entities
- Number of data
- Size of the HFM database
- Number of users
- Number of users accessed the application
- Number of error messages
- Number of warnings
- Number of information messages
This is just a number of performance KPIs.
If anyone else know more, it would be great to share...

Thanos

Are these KPIs that need to be configured with BI? We dont currently have BI configured within our environment.

Hi Rodney,
No need for BI... KPIs are all these ways to get any visibility of HFM App...

Where do I go to get visibility to these KPIs, which oracle component do I use, and is there any documentation?
Thanks

I guess my question to your response is, are these predefined KPIs or are is this something I have to figure out how to define myself?
-
Ah.. sorry.
These are not predefined. This is something that we have defined and we keep record every month.

I understand now; that being the case, what would you use to obtain information as to how long a consolidation would take?
-
Hi there,
The way I calculate this measure is: Select the scenario with the higher volume of data. Run 3 times the consolidate all with data and get the average.

Hi Thanasis,
I have utilized the task_audit feature of HFM to get an idea of how long each consolidation is taking. I ran an export of the task audit for 1 month and it displays each consolidation that was ran, by user, and the start and end time of each of those consolidations. After exporting these to an excel file, I subtracted the start time from the end time and got a duration for each consolidation and I was able to manipulate the data a little and graph out all of the consolidations for a period of time, by category. I could also do this by user etc if I wanted to.

Hi,
That's the idea Rodney
