Statistical accounts getting cleared on FDM load

Hi,

In our FDM environment (V9.3.3), P&L and B/S trial balances are loaded through FDM whereas operating statistics such as headcount are keyed in manually through data form.

For FDM load, users always choose "Replace" mode to ensure that when P&L and B/S trial balances are uploaded, any previous load is cleared.

However, due to this (we suspect), any non-P&L,non-B/S data such as operating statistics / headcount etc are also getting cleared.

Is this normal behavior of FDM?

How do we setup FDM in such a way that when data is loaded in HFM via FDM, such operating statistics / headcount data is not cleared even when users choose "Replace" mode?

Is it possible? If so, how?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Yes this is normal behaviour, and it is not FDM specific as it is HFM that actually peforms the 'Replace'. When you load using Replace HFM will, for each unique point of view (Scenario, Year, Period, Entity) in the load data, clear the corresponding values from the application. Therefore any data not in your FDM load in any of the unique POVs, in your case manually entered data, will be removed. Fortunately there are a number of ways to prevent this. FDM  has a feature called Data Protection which should help you retain your manually entered data.
