Redeploy application job status hangs at 10%

Hi,

I've been facing an issue, when doing planning application redeployment from EPMA application library, OCCASIONALLY, the job status hangs at 10%, and after hours of waiting it aborted, and in summary information it shows:

Detail : Initiating Product Action...

Generating Headers and Callback Information...

Generating Application Data...

Posting Product Request...

Waiting For Status Updates...

PRODUCT_UPDATE:  Update from product

Deployment has been timed out.  There were no updates from product.

But I can find the newly added members in both Planning and Essbase dimensions.

I've also checked the job status console in Planning application, I can see there's a "refresh database" job that has successfully completed, and meanwhile no session is found in EAS console.

So I conclude that the redeployment has been done but the EPMA job status was not updated

This troubles me a lot. Could experts here kindly provide some help?

Eric

    Hi Dayalan,

    Thanks for reply.

The version is  EPMA 11.1.2.4.000 and Planning 11.1.2.4.002.

We normally add only a few members. I know if adding members in dense dimensions like accounts dimension we cause a total Essbase restructure which would take a long time.

But today I only added a single member on sparse dimension but still it aborted.

For more information, after aborted message showed up, I have to restart EPMA related services or else it would abort again on redeployment.

Have you checked the EPMA related logs to see if there is a recurring error.

    Logs to check are in:

    <EPM_ORACLE_INSTANCE>\diagnostics\logs\epma

    <MIDDLWARE_HOME>\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\EpmaWebReports0\logs

    Cheers

We do have issue with Planning crashing intermittent in 11.1.2.4 version.

    /MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_ projects/domains/ EPMSystem/servers/ Planning0/logs

    EPM_ORACLE_INSTANCE/ diagnostics/logs/planning

    Hello,

As most of the experts have replied already, I would like suggest you to monitor the Essbase studio services while deployment, as there must be some previous request stuck in the memory which must be causing the issue,

probably you can re-start you studio services ?

    Thanks,

    Azad

If it is a planning application then it will have nothing to do with Essbase Studio, Studio is only used with pure Essbase applications deployed from EPMA.

    Cheers

Have you tried deploying the application via the DeployScript from the server?
