Advanced Compress and Oracle Streams

Would like to know if the Advanced Compression option can be used in conjunction with Oracle Streams/Replication to compress the tables or compress what goes over the network? We are running Oracle 12c 12.1.0.4 on Red Hat Linux 6.5. Thank you in advance for any help or advice that is offered.
