Restrict an employee from applying from Unpaid Leave if he/she has Annual Leave Accrual Balance

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where in I want to restrict employee from applying for unpaid leave, if he or she has Annual Leave Balance.
How can I can fetch the Annual Leave Accrual balance of an employee in the Global Absence Entry Validation fast formula?
Any help on this issue would be highly appreciated.
