Hi,

I want to move data from hyperion to custom ebs tables.

I know of few ways:

1 - I can simple export my data file and run a routine from EBS which will upload the exported file.

Or

2 - I can automate this whole process via ODI.

But what other options do i have?

3 - Can i somehow customize this process via fdmee?

Can i export my data in open interface table? and from there i can load it into my custom table?

4 - Can i achieve this via outline utility?

5 - How about i do simple export from outline load utility and import via sqlloader and but that in a script. Can i run that script from FDMEE? or from Workspace?

Any other approach or workaround?
Your help is much appreciated.

Regards and thanks in advance.

Well you can discount the outline load utility as you can only import metadata/data from a relational source, export only to flat file.

If you want to get the numerical data from Essbase then you can also export to a flat file or to a relational target, there are some limitations around exporting to a relational target.

It is probably best to export the data to a file and then load to a staging table, transform and then load to your target.

How you go about that depends on the tools involved and skillset.

Does the FDMEE write-back functionality help you - Available Source to Target Write-Backs

    Cheers

Thanks for help john. This was my final solution if nothing else works. But still wanted to explore other options.

    Regarding staging table.

Shall i create my own custom staging table?

If yes in which user should i create it? in FDMEE RDBMS user/schema?

Can i use fdmee staging table?

    Or

This is all upto me... and i think this is the correct answer

    Regards

Don't forget to mark then you have got a little slack with your recent few posts over the last week.

There is no right and wrong way to do it, I can only provide high level information because it is not me who implementing.

The staging table was an idea if you need to load the data from a file to database, which you may need to transform it before loading to target, having a staging table makes this easier but like I said it is all up to you how you implement.
