Connect to associated Database using Java

Hi community,

I want to develop a program hosted in Java Cloud service which consumes Web Services from a SaaS application. This program wil store certain data to keep track of statuses, data on invoices, etc. I don't know how to create an schema in the DBaaS associated to the JCS.

Is there any doc or tutorial which describes how to create a Database and how to connect to it using java (or ADF maybe)? I'm really stuck with this, therefore any clue will be helpful.
