rman log error

Hello

after using the below to rename datafiles:

1-ALTER TABLESPACE DATAMPP OFFLINE;

2-RMAN> COPY DATAFILE '+DATA/delta/datafile/datampp.328.877737659' TO '+NEWDATA';

3-sqlplus> alter database rename file ' ' to ' ' ;

4-ALTER TABLESPACE DATAMPP ONLINE

rman logs shows the backup as copy as obsolete and tries to delete it and luckily fails with :

RMAN-06207: WARNING: n objects could not be deleted for DISK channel(s) due

RMAN-06208: to mismatched status. Use CROSSCHECK command to fix status

please advise on how to configure rman to consider the copy of datafile not obsolete

and never tries to delete it

rman>crosscheck copy of datafile <datafile number> and it will make the eralier copy as obsolete.

Actually i don't want to make the copy obsolete , since the copy became the main file after the rename

use keep clause of RMAN

just use  switch datafile <fno> to copy command in rman .

it will use file from copu location .

CHANGE COPY OF datafile 1 keep forever-> if yu have recovery catalog;

CHANGE COPY OF datafile 1 keep until time 'sysdate+365'-> if you dont have recovery catalog

does rman > switch datafile <dfno> to copy;

conflict with previous rename from sqlplus > alter database rename file ' ' to ' ' ; ???

plus if i take datafile / tablespace offline

is rman> recover datafile <dfno>   required ??

Yes, alter database rename datafile updates the controlfile to point to new location.
