Installing database from install-tool.cmd

JanGLiMay 31 2017 — edited Jun 7 2017

Hi,

I have installed HFM 11.1.2.4 on windows server 2012 R2. After application creation i am getting this error "EPMHFM-66054: The system was unable to find the Datasource process for application HFMCRP". I have tired all the solutions provided by SR and experts on community. I have applied the latest HFM patch but still getting the same issue.

What i found is that i didn't installed db clients when i was installing HFM using install-tool.cmd.

Could this be the reason?

If yes... how can i install db clients using install-tool.cmd?

I did tried installing them but it is failing. Following are the logs shown in logs files E:\Oracle\HFM\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\diagnostics\logs\install\installTool-install-Thu-06.01.2017- 8.18.14.log

When installing if you select "Financial Management Server" it will automatically select the database clients so you must have deselected them, they are selected for a reason, obviously if you were connecting to SQL Server you would not need them selected.

It is also possible to use an existing Oracle client - Using an Existing Oracle Database Client

@John Goodwin

Do we still need DB client, when we use/specify jdbc connection string during config?

Thanks

No you don't need a database client for the configuration.
