Change EPM OS IP

Hi,

OS: Linux 6.6

EPM Version: 11.1.2.4

I have installed EPM and configure it using IP address. I want to change IP address of my OS. Is there any solution to change IP address of OS without reinstalling EPM again?

First of all, it is not preferred to go with IP change after installing EPM.

To change IP, we need to change lot of changes in registry and file system as well i think.

Hello JanGLi,

There are 2 options.

1) There is no need to reinstall the EPM. Just drop and recreating the HSS schema is sufficient. In this method new EPM registry is created with new entries.

You will lose provisioning information of all the products which has to be imported back.

2) There is a command to change the host name, (but it almost never works)

If this fails I believe the only option is to manually edit each host name entry found in registry using

"epmsys_registry updateproperty #componentID/@componentProperty value"

Make sure you have the HSS schema backup prior to making any changes to registry. This is very crucial as in case corruption you can restore the schema and bring back the system to working state.

While starting installation, EPM installation console will check Host Name or Ip Address also as prerequisite right, then in that case how this Ip Change will reflect ??
