Are the Oracle VM Guest Additions Packages for Oracle Linux (i.e., the packages located in the Oracle Linux Addon Yum repositories [OL6|OL7] as described in Chapter 7.3 of the Oracle VM Administration Guide) suitable for other RHEL-based distros (e.g., CentOS, Scientific Linux, etc)?

Anything user space should, anything kernel based, such as drivers, more likely won't. Some packages, like oracle-rdbms-server, for example, require the Oracle UEK kernel.
