Creating PDB with old pdb name fails with ORA-65149:PDB name conflicts with existing service name i

Getting ORA-65149 error while creating pdb with old pdb name that was dropped and dbms_service.delete_service says no such service exist to delete . This is 12.2 version, there was a bug listed in 12.1 but says it is fixed in 12,2.

create pluggable database pdb1 from pdb2;

ERROR at line 1:

ORA-65149: PDB name conflicts with existing service name in the CDB or the PDB

SQL> select name, network_name, con_id# from cdb_service$;

SQL> exec dbms_Service.delete_service('pdb1');

    Never mind, it resolved. I just deleted service name manually from  cdb_service$ table that fixed the issue.

    Did you also check for the service name in all PDBs?

    I'm not sure that I would manually delete from a Data Dictionary table. That could cause more problems than you are trying to fix. While your issue has been resolved, the next time I would file a Service Request with Oracle Support. It is likely you are hitting a bug and they would need to know to fix it so that you and others do not have this issue in the future.
