New User/DynID Setup Process For Managed DNS

I am trying to set up a new user for Managed DNS. I created an ID for him in the Manage DNS portal (in "Manage Account" and "Manage Users". When he tries to log in, he gets a message that says he has to log in with an email address. He tried to set up a DynID but received a message that said "Sorry, login credentials invalid" and "Make sure you're using your DynECT Managed DNS credentials to begin enrollment". What are we missing/doing wrong?
