Open in Smart View option does not work in Firefox

Hi,

based on the following article https://docs.oracle.com/applications/smartview/800/SVREA/toc.htm#SVREA-smart_view_11125600_readme_112  (see section Using Firefox ESR 60 and Later with Smart View) but as well as this blog post The Finnish Hyperion Guy: Smart View 11.1.2.5.800

I assumed that I should now be able to use the Open in Smart View option in with Mozilla Firefox ESR 60 in order to open data grids/data forms in Smart View/Excel from within the browser. Unfortunately, having installed the latest version of the Oracle Smart View for Office add-in for Firefox I am getting the following error when I click the Open in Smart View button in any document:

The address wasn't understood

Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (oraclesv) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address.

Any ideas?

My config:

Oracle EPM 11.1.2.4

Oracle Smart View for Office 11.1.2.5.810 Build 149

Firefox Quantum ESR 60.5.1esr (64-bit)

Same issue for me, "opening webform in SmartView" it is not working with firefox (while working with IE11)

- Oracle SmartView addin from Firefox marketplace is installed & enabled

i haven't found anything related on the Oracle Support KB

same issue here, as a temporary workaround we had to downgraded to Firefox 52.4.1, the last version with XUL where it works - hope Oracle fixes it!

Using Firefox ESR 52.4.2 with Smart View

Mozilla Firefox has phased out support for XUL-based add-ons such as Smart View. Only add-ons and extensions built with new web extension technology will work in newer versions of Firefox. Therefore, Smart View 11.1.2.5.710 and newer only support Firefox versions up to ESR 52.4.1. If you want to continue using Firefox with Smart View 11.1.2.5.710 and newer, do
not upgrade your Firefox browser.

If your Firefox browser is set to automatically install updates, Oracle recommends changing the setting to “Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them.” See the Firefox help for instructions on changing this setting.
