How long does it take to upgrade from exadata 18.1 image to 19.1 (including Linux 6 to 7 )?

    Hello,

    I recently experience to upgrade to 19c. It took 6 continuous days with 3 people in order to upgrade

    ExadataX7-2 (half) 4xdatabase servers + 7xstorage servers, before:12.2 -> after:19.2 (ESS 19.2 as well), on which there were about 50+ pdbs.

    This includes not only GI/DB/ESS upgrades, but also system and database backups before and after the upgrade.

    Besides, we had to another two weeks to upgrade EM and ZFS as well, which could be done online.

    Prior to the upgrade, we had to prepare a similar environment with the same software version, to check all the procedure.

    Note this is not a database in production. Thoughout the experience, I wouldn't imagine to upgrade running databases in production.
