Enterprise Manager Grafana Plugin

Hi.

We went a few months ago to an Oracle keynote for Oracle Enterprise Manager. In that keynote the told us about a Grafana plugin that it hadn't been released yet. We are very interested in that plugin, so I like to know if there is already a date for the release? Or if there is a beta version so we can test the plugin?

Thank you very much.

    Hi,

We do not have exact date, but 13.4 EM is getting released very soon and this Grafana Plugin is also coming.

There is no Beta testing platform.

Hi, is there a way to be notified when the Grafana plugin is released?  Or a blog/page to follow to see when its announced?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

On Oracle Open World, the Grafana topic was also mentioned (and we have seen a demo).

We would love to use this plugin too.

Is there already an ETA when the plugin will become available?

    Regards

    Mark

    Hi Venkate,

Any update on this? Some posts are mentioning Grafana since Nov 19, and still, there is not an ETA when we can expect this?

    Hi Venkat,

It looks like BP has become available:

13.4.0.3 Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Base Platform Monthly Release Update (RU) (Doc ID 2676666.1)

Can you tell me how to proceed? Is the only thing we have to do installing this BP3?

Or do we also need to wait on a plugin from Grafana to become available? (are there any documents about configuring Grafana for EM?)

    Rgrds

    Hi Venkata,

Thanks for the help so far. We have managed the Grafana and are able to see data in the default reports for at least two Enterprise Managers right now.

But I am curious on what other options we have, how we could create our own reports, and if there is something like a users-community where we can share our reports and help/reach-out to each-other.

Are you aware of something like that? And can you share where I can find more information about this topic?

    Rgrds,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

Depends on which version of Grafana server you are using, GUI options will be bit different.

To give you a high level steps of how you can create your own Dashboard is:

    1. From Manage Dashboard screen, click Create Dashboard option (look for + icon).

    2. Click Add Panel icon.

    3. Select the Create Query option.

    4. In the query panel, select your EM site as datasource

5.Select Timeseries from the Series Type drop-down

6.Select the appropriate option from Raw/Hourly/Daily if you want to visualise EM repository Data without writing any query or Custom Query option if you want to write your own query to pull data from relevant EM repository tables(OMR)

7.Select Target type, Target, Metric Group , Metric Values.

    8. Hit Go.

Note: Make sure the viewing period Date range on the top right hand side , you have selected the range which you are interested in.

Also make sure for the metric which you have selected data , do exist in the EM repository, (Meaning metric is enabled and data was being collected already for the selected target type and target).

Look at the various icons available in the Query panel , to duplicate or add a new query in case you want to show more than one query's result data in one single panel.

You can change the visualisation as per your want and you can see that same data is being rendered differently based on your visualisation selection.

Please goto Grafana site to get an general idea of how to navigate through various screen options to build a dashboard.
