Hello, folks.

Well, I don't even know by where to start. My config:

Windows 2019

Oracle DB 19.0

Cloud Control 13.4

There's been three days I'm battling with the Cloud Control installer, and I'm losing big time.  Not only the thing is extremely slow (and I scrap/create the database anew for each retry), I can't get past the famous 80% error - BI Publisher Configuration:

pastedImage_0.png

I found some references about it, but each one point to different versions and problems.  None fit my case, though.

After cancelling it, I try starting the service manually anyway.  It seems installed, just the BI part is not configured.  But emctl does not start the webtier correctly:

Let's see the the costmary logs:

<DOMAIN_HOME>/system_components/ohs/ohs_nm.log

<2020-05-14 18:37:06> <INFO> <OHS-0> <Domain initialized for C:\Oracle\gc_inst\user_projects\domains\GCDomain><2020-05-14 18:37:06> <INFO> <OHS-4112> <Creating instance ohs1><2020-05-14 19:02:04> <INFO> <OHS-4114> <Updating instance ohs1><2020-05-14 19:05:38> <INFO> <OHS-0> <Domain initialized for C:\Oracle\gc_inst\user_projects\domains\GCDomain><2020-05-14 19:10:17> <INFO> <OHS-4018> <Starting server ohs1><2020-05-14 19:10:17> <INFO> <OHS-0> <Running C:\Oracle\cloudcontrol\ohs\bin\launch.exe C:\Oracle\cloudcontrol\ohs\bin\httpd.exe -DOHS_MPM_WINNT -d C:/Oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/fmwconfig/components/OHS/instances/ohs1 -f C:\Oracle\gc_inst\user_projects\domains\GCDomain\config\fmwconfig\components\OHS\instances\ohs1\httpd.conf><2020-05-14 19:10:20> <INFO> <OHS-0> <httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 67 of C:/Oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/fmwconfig/components/OHS/instances/ohs1/httpd.conf: Cannot load C:/Oracle/cloudcontrol/ohs/modules/mod_ora_audit.so into server: The specified module could not be found.  ><2020-05-14 19:10:21> <SEVERE> <OHS-0> <C:\Oracle\cloudcontrol\ohs\bin\launch.exe C:\Oracle\cloudcontrol\ohs\bin\httpd.exe -DOHS_MPM_WINNT -d C:/Oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/fmwconfig/components/OHS/instances/ohs1 -f C:\Oracle\gc_inst\user_projects\domains\GCDomain\config\fmwconfig\components\OHS\instances\ohs1\httpd.conf: exit status = 1><2020-05-14 19:10:21> <INFO> <OHS-4005> <Check the instance log file for more information: C:\Oracle\gc_inst\user_projects\domains\GCDomain\servers\ohs1\logs\ohs1.log><2020-05-14 19:10:21> <SEVERE> <OHS-0> <Failed to start the server ohs1>

The last line shows the famous "Failed to start the server ohs1", but gives no explanation wyh.

The <DOMAIN_HOME>/nodemanager/nodemanager.log

<14-May-2020 7:10:17 o'clock PM EDT> <INFO> <GCDomain> <BIP> <The server 'BIP' is running now.><14-May-2020 7:10:17 o'clock PM EDT> <INFO> <GCDomain> <ohs1> <Creating directory "C:\Oracle\gc_inst\user_projects\domains\GCDomain\system_components\OHS\ohs1\logs"><14-May-2020 7:10:17 o'clock PM EDT> <INFO> <GCDomain> <ohs1> <Creating directory "C:\Oracle\gc_inst\user_projects\domains\GCDomain\system_components\OHS\ohs1\security"><14-May-2020 7:10:17 o'clock PM EDT> <INFO> <GCDomain> <ohs1> <Creating directory "C:\Oracle\gc_inst\user_projects\domains\GCDomain\system_components\OHS\ohs1\tmp"><14-May-2020 7:10:21 o'clock PM EDT> <WARNING> <Server start command for OHS server 'ohs1' failed due to: [Failed to start the server ohs1Check log file C:\Oracle\gc_inst\user_projects\domains\GCDomain\system_components\OHS\ohs_nm.log]. Once more the "Failed to start the server" message.  Still doesn't say much about the problem.

Curiously, I found this in <DOMAIN_HOME>\servers\ohs1/logs/lastinvocation.log

@ECHO OFFSETLOCALSET PATH=C:\Oracle\cloudcontrol\ohs\bin;c:\Oracle\CLOUDC~1\bin;c:\Oracle\CLOUDC~1\oracle_common\bin;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\system32\SET SystemDrive=C:SET PRODUCT_HOME=C:/Oracle/cloudcontrol/ohsSET COMPONENT_TYPE=OHSSET COMPONENT_LOG_PATH=C:/Oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/servers/ohs1/logsSET NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1SET ORA_NLS33=c:\Oracle\CLOUDC~1\nls\dataSET SHELL=cmd.exeSET COMPONENT_CONFIG_PATH=C:/Oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/fmwconfig/components/OHS/instances/ohs1SET SystemRoot=C:\WindowsSET COMMON_COMPONENTS_HOME=c:\Oracle\CLOUDC~1\oracle_commonSET ORACLE_INSTANCE=C:/Oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomainSET ComSpec=C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exeSET LANG=en_IN.utf8SET ORACLE_HOME=c:\Oracle\CLOUDC~1SET COMPONENT_NODEMANAGER_STATE_FILE=C:/Oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/servers/ohs1/logs/ohs.stateSET COMPONENT_NAME=ohs1C:\Oracle\cloudcontrol\ohs\bin\launch.exe C:\Oracle\cloudcontrol\ohs\bin\httpd.exe -DOHS_MPM_WINNT -d C:/Oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/fmwconfig/components/OHS/instances/ohs1 -f C:\Oracle\gc_inst\user_projects\domains\GCDomain\config\fmwconfig\components\OHS\instances\ohs1\httpd.conf

So, the last thing to be run was that launch.exe?  OK, let me run it manually from a prompt to see if it gives me a hint.  And it did:

pastedImage_10.png

And here is the title of this question.  oraopmnperf.ddl?  Google did not help me here, there are only a couple of fake entries with this term that say absolutely nothing about it.

There is an Oracle entry in the results, but that page talk about another ddl, oraiau.dll :

https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?_afrLoop=421459787638417&parent=EXTERNAL_SEARCH&sourceId=PROBLEM&…

Accordingly to it, the oraiau.dll missing is due to a missing Visual C++ Redistributable package.

I didn't believe it had anything to do with my problem, but I installed several C++ packages - 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019 - without luck.  The error persists.

Then I found this page that perfectly describes the situation and match every single log entry I have (although mentions nothing about this dll):

https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?_afrLoop=419834448938944&parent=EXTERNAL_SEARCH&sourceId=PROBLEM&…

The only thing is that this is for a Linux environment.  It points to a libclntshcore.so.12.1 file that does not exists in a Windows environment.

In fact, most of (if not all) problems and solutions I found was in a Linux env.  The rarely mentions I found for Windows env were in the doc, which does not really help when troubleshooting.

So folks, can anybody shed some light on this?  Have you ever heard about this missing ddl? What exactly it is where can I find/install it?

Definitely looks like the same error syntax as seen in

13.4: OMS Installation on Windows Fails During OMS Statup: Webtier Fails to Start with exit status: -1073741515 (Doc ID 2639245.1)

which is a dependency on Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable along with Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable.   Can you confirm that msvcr100.dll and msvcr110.dll are present in your windows directory.    If they are, I would definitely suggest opening an SR with Oracle so development can get engaged and they can help resolve the issue.

    1) Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable along with Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable.

    2) Go to C:\Windows\System32 directory and confirm if "msvcr100.dll" and "msvcr110.dll" are present.

    3) Resume the 13.4 installation by clicking on retry, or by running the following command:

        $<OMS_ORACLE_HOME>/oui/bin/runConfig.sh ORACLE_HOME=<absolute_path_to_Oracle_home> MODE=perform ACTION=configure COMPONENT_XML={encap_oms.1_0_0_0_0.xml}

    Hi,

I see the OS you are trying to install 13.4 EM is Windows 2019.

But the only 3 supported Windows OS versions for 13.4 EM are : 2016,2012 R2,2012

    Best Regards,

Hi again, folks. First of all, thank you for you insights and help.  Thanks to Courtney's tip I realized the Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 was missing.  I hade them all installed, 2008,2012,2015,2017,2019... but 2010!  The installer could check for these dependencies before proceeding.  Although I did not go through the whole install doc, I could not find any other official reference to these requirements other than here.

    Thanks a bunch, Cortney

I just scrapped everything, uninstalled each Visual C++ and started from scratch.  Visual 2010 and 2012 installed, new clean database and relaunched the installer.  And it completed without any errors.  Nice.

Checked the services to be sure everything was running smooth:

    pastedImage_3.png

    (host protected)

So far so good.  But when I try to access the Console URL:

This page isn’t working right now

    <host> didn’t send any data.

    ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

    (host protected)

OK, the service is up but I can't connect.  Maybe a firewall issue?  No, I disactivated it completely and in fact I can successfully telnet the server at 7799 locally or from another machine.  So it's not a firewall block.

Then I found something really interesting in <DOMAIN_HOME>servers/ohs1/logs/ohs1.log:

Client SSL handshake error, nzos_Handshake returned 43126?  Didn't find much about this specific 43126 error code, but this entry here really discouraged me:

    https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?_afrLoop=483403679637711&parent=EXTERNAL_SEARCH&sourceId=PROBLEM&id=2439351.1&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=zc95nnkgp_53

In fact I fear I hit an obscure error due to the lack of support on Windows 2019 as stated in Venkata's answer.  Could it be the case?  How come the install was successful?

Is there an additional config to be done in the certificate level?

    Hi,

It's really difficult to determine the issue when we are installing it on an unsupported version. We do not know what dependencies are missing here.

Once can you try to clean stop all the components of OEM and then start it.

    emctl stop oms -all -force

    emctl start oms

If the OMS starts up, then try to verify the URL?

    Thanks,

    Venkat

    Hello, Venkata.

In fact I believe this is something in the network level.  I have another Cloud Control 13.4 correctly installed and running on another machine on Windows 10.

    The situation goes like this:

From the Win 10 host I can access  CC on Win 10.

From the Win 10 host I cannot access  CC on Win 2019.

From the Win 2019 host I cannot access CC on Win 10.

From the Win 2019 host I cannot access CC on Win 2019.

In all three faulty scenarios the error is the same: didn't send any data (ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE).  Why does it work only locally, I mean, from Windows 10 to Windows 10?

I'm able to correctly tellnet the 7799 port in all scenarios, it's perfectly accessible between these machines.

There must be a network config I'm missing in the 2019 machine.

    Hi,

Can you once verify the following URL:

    https://www.urtech.ca/2019/10/solved-how-to-fix-wordpress-site-redirected-you-too-many-times/

Some setting explained for this error. Not sure if this was the same, but give a try.

    Best Regards,

Thanks, Venkata. I did not have time to analyze nor test the solutions from that link, although I doubt it will help; it's not the same error.  Also, it seems to be something more specific with the wordpress platform. I can't delve further in this matter now, but I will mark Courtney answer's as correct since she provided the solution to my initial problem.  If I can't advance with this new issue I will create a new thread. Thank you all guys for your help.
