Hi Team,
I am trying to implement the content presenter in webcenter portal 12c ,single content item is working fine but I cannot find the content in the folder if i choose content under folder option under content.

It does work. You have to select two things in it and can see the result in the preview available there.
Content: Browse to a folder linked with your portal by clicking the Browse button
Template: Select a Template to be used with it
The result of these selections you should be able to see in clicking the Preview tab.
Which exact version are you using?
What error do you get.
