DataGuard requirements on OS account name

Hi,
Dumb question:
I was asked to add another standby to an existing two-node RAC to RAC DG (oracle 12c/ASM, separate software owner "grid" and "oracle"), but the OS account "oracle" is not available on the new node, and the System Admin created "oracle1" for me. I thought this is not going to work, the OS account name ( and the uid) and group membership (and the group IDs) must be the same across the all DG servers.
Is my understanding correct?
Thanks
