Using Areas of Responsibility

User_N91DSAug 18 2020

Hi All,

We are using Representatives defined under "Areas of Responsibility" for Performance document approval. Apart from Approvals, what are other uses for "Areas of Responsibility" feature?

Please share if you have used this feature.

Thanks

All Java web applications should be installed on the foundation server but you don't need to deploy them there, FDMEE can be deployed on any server as long as it has been installed on that server.

John,

If I understand correctly, I should be installing FDMEE on server 1 and as well on server 2. But I shouldn't be deploying on server 1. Instead deploy FDMEE installed on server 2 to weblogic on server 1. Hope this is correct.

Regards,

RR.

JohnGoodwin

Yes that is correct if you only want FDMEE to be deployed on Server 2.

John,

Another question. So by doing this, FDMEE(Data Management) should still be integrated and accessible from workspace right?

Regards,

Ragav.

JohnGoodwin

Yes FDMEE is accessed through workspace, also make sure you configure > Foundation > Configure Web Server as the last configuration step.

Thanks John....

John,

Sorry to come back with another question. I will also be installing ODI on FDMEE server. So I will require weblogic to deploy ODI java EE agent. Since weblogic will be configured on this server too, can I deploy FDMEE to the weblogic on this server? Would I still be able to access FDMEE from workspace after configuring the web server at the end?

Regards,

RR.

QA

Hi RR,

If you deploy to Weblogic which is not hosting foundation, you will not be able to access it via Workspace (to be precise using the url of server1).

Thanks,

JohnGoodwin

Out of interest why are you also installing the ODI java EE agent on the FDMEE server.

Ragav.R

John,

I have this server dedicated for FDM and ODI. So just wanted to install all the components of ODI on the same server. And as far as I have read, java EE agent will have to be configured on the same server.

Regards,

RR
