add year to HFM when using EPMA

Need to add a year to HFM in EPMA. Getting this error: The 'Year' dimension has been modified since the first successful deployment of the application.  See the Job Console to find out what has changed in this dimension since the first successful deployment of this application.

How do I add a new year to our HFM app?

It is not possible to add years to an application using EPMA. If you are on version 11.1.2.4 or later, you can edit the application profile directly in HFM consolidation administration and increase the number of years there. Do not change the number of years in EPMA. Because EPMA cannot deploy changes to the Year, Period, View, or Value dimensions, you will have a difference between the years in the application and those in the EPMA library.

To be clear: add years to the application as if it were classic, and do not change the years in EPMA. This will work.

If you are on a version of HFM pre-11.1.2.4 you can use the add years utility rather than change the profile in the web. It is the same approach except you use a Windows utility on the server to increase the number of years. This will work and it is supported.

You can copy a new classic application and the source application is your EPMA application.

Then you can add year in the new classic application and the way to add year just  as CBarbieri say. After that you can transfer the classic app to EPMA.

During above you can keep the years between EPMA and application.

We just added new Year dimension members in an existing EPMA HFM application (v11.1.2.3). As a consequence, we get the following error message at application validation (before deployment).

Error: The 'Year' dimension has been modified since the first successful deployment of the application. See the Job Console to find out what has changed in this dimension since the first successful deployment of this application.

I know there exists a specific HFM utility for classic applications, but what is the correct process to manage it in an EPMA application?

As I said, it is not possible to change the years in EPMA for an existing HFM application. You must revert the year dimension in EPMA to what it was before the change and then proceed to increase the number of years in the HFM application. Since 11.1.2.3 does not have a web-based profile manager, you must use the utility on one of the HFM application servers. The utilities in 11.1.2.3 can be found on the HFM application server, either in the Windows menu or in this folder:

Finally, please note there will always be a difference between the HFM application dimension and the EPMA year dimension. This is okay, not a problem, and as long as the EPMA year dimension does not change, it will not attempt to update the HFM year dimension and fail.
