Dynamic occupation threshold for start purging the recovery area
If you use OMF and a recovery area for example for standby archivelogs at a physical standby database and the archivelog deletion policy is set with:
CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO APPLIED ON ALL STANDBY;
there is an static percental threshold (I read something arround 95%), from where automatic purging of archivelogs and other FRA objects occurs.
I assume, if the recovery area size is to small (due resource gap), it will be better to start purging already at 50%. So it is more time for applying archivelogs and purging obsolete in high load situations.
So my wish is to have this threshold dynamicly changeable or Oracle calculates this threeshold adaptiv, for example based on DB_RECOVERY_DEST_SIZE and transaction rate.
