On a read-only tablespace, tables can be dropped and purged. There should be a better status, for my understanding when something is in read-only mode, every actions should be permitted.

Regards, Martin

    Can you clarify :

    >en something is in read-only mode, every actions should be permitted.

It seems to me that you do NOT want to permit DROP commands.

I would vote up if this was about to FORBID dropping objects in a read only TBS. Can't test what is currently possible however.

@martin.berger please clarify. Is it maybe a translation error? Permit = Allow = Erlauben (German)

It is currently possible to drop objects in a Read-Only Tablespace.

I assume that this request is to disallow DROP if the Tablespace is Read-Only.

  • Hi what do you mean by "every actions should be permitted". Does this mean you want to perform all the activities on read only tablespace? then what is the significance of "read only" status ?
