Unable to connect to catalog database

Hi ,

Please help me from this error.

RMAN-04004: error from recovery catalog database: ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory

Looks like your database is not started.

What is the OS? Exactly what command, or sequence of commands, did you issue to generate this error? A copy and paste from the command session would be most helpful to determine what exact questions we need to ask.

BTW, this really is just a database admin question, not an rman question. It's still just a database. The fact that it contains the rman catalog is no more relevent than if it contained the HR schema.
