ORA-04031 Encounter, but there was Shared Pool Space Available
Today I encountered ORA-04031:
ORA-04031: unable to allocate 65240 bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","unknown object","sga heap(1,0)","alloc KJSC rnb slots")
When I looked at OEM, my Shared Pool Size around the time of the error was 15GB. The Shared Pool Free (%) was 9%. That would mean I had about 1.3GB of free space in Shared Pool.
The error shows "unable to allocate 65240 bytes of shared memory."
Does this mean that in that 1.3GB of free space, there was NOT a single contiguous 65KB of space?
