Configuring two services for a non RAC DB for switch over to DG with minimal changes
We have a NONRAC primary database DB1 running 18.104.22.168 with active data guard DG1, we want to test switchover with minimum changes to the application and production database.
We were thinking of creating a DNS entry for the production IP so that when DB1 moves to DG1 we just change the DNS and the requests will go to DG1.
But the service_name of DB1 and DG1 are different, say for DB1 its DBS1 and DG1 is DGS1, can we configure another service on DG1 as DBS1 so that during swithover with just DNS change the request will reach the instance DG1 with same service name DBS1 as primary.
