Connect local dev box to proxy?

Our servers are on a special network that allows applications to connect to things outside the firewall (RSS for example) but on my local box it dies when I try to run the same process because it can't get past the proxy... Is there a server setting that would allow me to put my user name in password so that it could connect to the proxy?

Thanks
Whitt

    The proxy settings are given to the JVM via command line arguments:

    $ java -Dhttp.proxyHost=proxyhostURL
    -Dhttp.proxyPort=proxyPortNumber
    -Dhttp.proxyUser=someUserName
    -Dhttp.proxyPassword=somePassword

    Thanks

    Ive added the following to my setDomainEnv.cmd and it's now just telling me that Proxy or Server Authentication Required which means it's taking the server and port but it's not taking the username or password... any ideas?

    set EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES=-Dweblogic.wsee.bind.suppressDeployErrorMessage=true -Dweblogic.wsee.skip.async.response=true
    set PROXY_JAVA_PROPERTIES=-Dhttp.proxyHost=proxy.jbhunt.com -Dhttp.proxyPort=8080 -Dhttp.proxyUser=jbh01\whitt [email protected]

    set JAVA_PROPERTIES=%PROXY_JAVA_PROPERTIES% %JAVA_PROPERTIES% %EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES%

    I've tried below as well with no success
    -Dhttp.proxyUser=whitt
    and added this too...
    -Dhttp.proxySet=true

    Any ideas?
