Hi Planning Gurus,

Can we load data in planning using spreadsheet Add-in if we create proper structure or not. what are the steps to laod data using spreadsheet Add-in-

can we also push dimension in essbase through spreadsheet addin using lock and send feature?

what the precaution should we take for proper dataload?

i am using 9.3.1 with SQL 2000 on server 2000.

Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Planning uses essbase to store and retrieve data so using the excel addin to load data is perfectly acceptable, though if it is large amounts of data then it would be better through essbase load rules.
All you need to do is create a template in excel with the required cross sectional dimension information and data, then lock and send.
You need to watch out for sending data in at the correct level and also watch out for dynamic calc members.

You won't be able to use the excel addin to change any dimension information.

    Cheers
