Can we have a Initialization Block for Report. So that when a particular report is being executed that block should run.

This should be applied for all users and only for that report in oracle DB.

    Hi,

you cannot call an init-block for a particualr report in OBIEE.
However you could use the Usage Tracking feature to catch a specific report execution by adding a trigger on the usage tracking table. And then call a Java or PL/SQL procedure.

    Hi

I think you can create a variable (which gets refreshed dynamically by init block) and use that variable only in that report exclusively....

    Hi,

Why do you want an initialisation block to run when a report runs, what are you trying to achieve? As one of the other posters said, I would suggest using a session variable created through a session initialisation block, this will then be user specific and can be used by this report.

    Regards,

    Matt
