Replace the faulty LOG-HDD

Hello,
we have a Oracle ZFS Storage 7120 with running ZFS Storage Appliance 2011.04.24.3.0,1-1.19
LOG shows a faulty LOG-HDD
Major Fault: SMART health-monitoring firmware reported that a failure is imminent on disk 'HDD03'.
HDD03 is the LOG-HDD
this hdd is assigned to a storage pool (data profile: mirrored) with striped log profile. That means the log-hdd is not in RAID (single disk)
Is there a way to replace this HDD without destroying the pool?
The storage run in produktive.
Unfortunately the storage is out of oracle support.
Thanks!
Regards
Sergej
PS: Sorry for bad english.

It's look like you can just remove old and install new. Wait 30s before install new disk.

Hi.
You can replace log device without destroy pool
You not lost you data even this log device will be faulted, but write perfomance will down.
Log device for 7120 is internal Flash PCIe card. So it can not be hot-replaced.
Becouse this system out of service- it can be problem found required spare parts.

Nik.

Hi Nik,
the log device in our storage is a ssd with 70 GB (s. pichtures)
I already have the spare hardware.
Or are you talking about another log device (internal Flash PCIe)?
Can I smply replace the hdd physically ?
Is the new device automatically defined as LOG-HDD?
Thanks!

Hi.
Just replace faulted log device (HDD 3).
New device should automaticaly assigned as log device.
My discussion about hot-replacement problem for internal Flash PCIe. It's not your case.
What size of new spare (for replace) disk ?

Hi Nik,
the spare device is exactly the same model.
Should I set the faulted devise offline first?
Thanks!
