Knowledge Modules - when to use what?

I have a created an interface that loads data into the source Oracle DB and works absolutely fine when I execute it individually. However it does not load the data when I put it in a package, which contains interfaces that loads data into the same table.
Not sure what the issue is; and also I dont get any error during the process - It says it finished executing the package, but when I check the target table I dont see the data.
The knowledge modules I have are:
----------------------------------------------------
IKM Oracle Incremental Update
IKM SQL Control Append
IKM SQL to SQL Append
I might be doing something silly! any help is greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,

OOps,
The data gets loaded without any issue when I changed the IKM selection from "IKM Oracle Incremental Update" to "IKM SQL Control Append". Not sure if that is the correct way to go.
Is there any detailed notes available on the Knowledge Modules and about what KM strategies to use!

Please can someone help me to understand the difference between the below KMs:
1. KM Oracle Incremental Update
2. IKM SQL Control Append
3. IKM SQL to SQL Append
Appreciate your time.
Thanks
